Meets the Industry
François Auroux thrives in two distinctly different industries, the legal industry and the entertainment industry. Working in the film and legal industries allows him to leverage both worlds, providing legal guidance to entertainment industry leaders, while staying connected to emerging legal trends.
For his transactional practice, François represents clients primarily in the entertainment industry assisting companies to expand to their true potential by negotiating contracts and assessing risk. For his litigation practice, François has represented clients ranging from everyday people in need of legal aid, to multinational corporations. He has fought on behalf of plaintiffs to recover over one million dollars for clients in the past three years. His experience in first chair corporate defense litigation with millions of dollars in personal exposure to the clients provides the basis for his aggressive, detail oriented litigation approach.
When the 2025 fires ripped through Pacific Palisades, François' family's home was destroyed, along with tens of thousands of other homes in Los Angeles. Several news outlets picked up his story when clips of him escaping the fires on his bicycle went viral. The international news story resulted in thousands of people reaching out from all over the world, including those from Greece, Canada, France and the United States. In the aftermath of the fires, Francois has gained a deep connection to the community by helping families sort through the myriad of legal and insurance related issues that stem from families losing everything they have ever owned.
Growing up in Pacific Palisades, California with parents working in the film industry allowed him to start working at a young age in roles as assistant camera operator, digital tech, photographer, and camera man. In recent years, he has captured media for brand campaigns, experiential advertising and reality television. His experience and strong network allows him to stay tapped into this industry.
Throughout his life, François focused on his education in order to become an entertainment lawyer. He attended California Santa Barbara, graduating with honors with double majors in Communication, and Law & Society, with an emphasis on Photography and Art History. He studied abroad in France extensively throughout his University and Law School career focusing on International Entertainment Law. He obtained his Juris Doctor from Whittier Law School with a certificate in Intellectual Property and has practiced as a lawyer for the past 15 years.
